Hello! My name is Stephen Gallant, and I’m honoured and humbled to be the Conservative Party of Canada candidate of record for London Centre.
A little about me: I am husband to my beautiful wife Marina and am the father of two wonderful children, Claudia and Samuel. My family is my world, and it’s been my joy to grow with them.
I served nine years in the Canadian Armed Forces as an Infantry Officer, leaving the service at the rank of captain. The skills I picked up in my time in the Army helped equip me for the Financial Services Industry, where I have gained nearly 30 years of experience. I’ve also dedicated almost 9 years of my life towards serving the less fortunate of London as a volunteer for the Ark Aid Street Mission, a downtown food kitchen offering free meals. During my time with the Ark, I worked in a variety of positions, starting with serving food and, after a few years, eventually leading to my appointment as Chairman of the Board. While with the Ark, I assisted community leaders to help develop the London Food Coalition. Specifically, I worked with local MPPs to help set aside $5 million in funding for agencies across Ontario who address food insecurity. Thanks to the efforts of the incredible team, the London Food Coalition is helping to cut down on waste and redistribute food to those in need.
From office workers to the homeless community, my experiences in London Centre have given me the rare opportunity to listen and learn from Londoners of all walks of life. I’ve seen how, under the Trudeau and Jagmeet's joint rule, the quality of life for Londoners of all backgrounds has suffered and the economic growth and prosperity that once defined this city is slowing down.
The upcoming federal election, like no other in recent memory, is crucial in determining the future for our city and our country. I’m incredibly proud to live in a nation as diverse, welcoming, and hard-working as Canada is, and I see all of those qualities in the members of London Centre. People in this riding know that for a strong and prosperous future, we must stand up to the unchecked spending and reckless leadership of Justin Trudeau and his Liberals — along with Jagmeet Singh and his NDP coalition.
Together, we can correct our course and set Canada on the right track.
